“At least 20 top NPA leaders in Caraga region were either killed or severely wounded in the Surigao del Sur clash,” sabi ni Fourth Infantry Division (4th ID) Public Affairs Office Chief Capt. Al Anthony B. Pueblas.
Nagsimula ang engkwentro sa pagitan ng tropa ng pamahalaan at ng NPA nang magsumbong ang mga mamamayan sa mga sundalo na nanggigipit na mga rebeldeng komunista sa kanilang lugar.
Plano ng mga NPA na pasalangin ang mga lider ng indigenous peoples tribes na hindi sumusuporta sa idolohiya ng mga komunista, pangingikil at paghihikayat sa mga kabataan na sumanib sa aktibidades ng mga NPA.
“As widely documented, history is replete with NPA atrocities in the area against indigenous peoples (IPs), women and minors prompting the 4th ID to conduct focus military operation (FMO) to prevent another terror plan by the CNTs,” dagdag pa ni Pueblas.
Kasama sa mga napulbos ay ang ay sina NEMRC Secretary Myrna Salarte, and National Democratic Front (NDF) Komisyon Mindanao (KOMMID) Spokesperson Alvin Logue.
“These wanted terrorists and a number of their cohorts were believed to have been killed or severely wounded after the series of clashes against our security forces as heavy bloodstains are scattered along the terrorists’ direction of withdrawal,” dagdag pani Pueblas.
Nitong nagsimula ang pandemiya ng Coronavirus disease 2019 (covi-19) lumabas sa mga balita ang ginagawang panggigipit ng NPA sa mga kababayan natin tumatanggap ng ayuda mula sa gobyerno.
Magugunita na makailang ulit ng nagbanta si Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte na tatapusin niya ang NPA sa kanyang termino.
