Bumoto si opposition senator Kiko Pangulinan laban sa pagpasa ng senado sa Bayanihan to Recover as Once Act o Bayanihan 2. Ginawa ito ni Kiko dahil sa mga akusasyong kinkakaharap ni Health Secretary Francisco Duque III.
Ayon pa sa senador, palpak at makupad daw ang tugon ng gobyerno sa pandemiya.
“We cannot allow this mediocrity in leadership to further have a hand in billions of pesos worth of public funds and we cannot allow incompetence in the highest levels to continue to hold sway and make decisions urgently needed to stave off further economic losses, losses now reaching over a trillion pesos. For the sake of the nation’s health and to prevent the total collapse of the nation’s economy, Duque has to go. The nation deserves better. For this, again, it is with regret that I vote NO,” boladas ni Kiko.
Matatandaan na isa sa mga tinalakay kahapon ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte ay ang nasabing panukalang batas.
“This health emergency stretched the government‘s resources to its limits. In response, the Office of the Presidentworked closely with Congress for the quick passage of the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act.May I again reiterate my thanks to you, the men and women of Congress, for the effort you invested into passing that law. I hope that we can get some or the same treatment of clarity, purpose and the fastness[applause]to support the passage of the Bayanihan [to Recover as One Act], which will supplement funds for recovery and response against the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.We must facilitate the country‘s economic recovery,” paliwanag ni Pangulong Duterte.
Magugunita na isa din si Kiko sa mga bumoto kontra sa pagpasa ng Anti-Terrorism Law na sinertipikahan pa ni Pangulong Duterte na urgent.
