Ilang araw matapos maging sikat ang Manila Bay dahil sa white sand project ng gobyerno, halos sabay-sabay naman ngayon naglitawan sa mga news outlet ang ulat ng fish kill na nangyari sa tubig ng Manila Bay.
Kinuwestiyon naman ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque ang pagkamatay ng mga isda. Ayon sa tagapagsalita ng Presidente, gagawin daw talaga lahat ng mga kalaban ng gobyerno para siraan si Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
“Well, hindi ko po alam kung mayroon ngang sabotahe, pinag-aaralan pa po iyan. Pero nakapagtataka nga… Bakit ang tilapia, freshwater fish iyon, nakarating sa Manila Bay? Parang imposible naman iyon ‘no dahil hindi po mabubuhay ang tilapia sa saltwater… Sa panahon ngayon, desperado po ang kalaban ng gobyerno – lahat po ginagawa para siraan si Presidente Duterte. At nagpapasalamat po kami kahit anong sabihin nila, kahit anong gawin nila, nagtitiwala pa rin po ang sambayanang Pilipino kay Presidente Duterte,” sabi ni Spokesperson Roque.
Diskumpiyado din si Department of Environment and Natural Resources Undersecretary Benny Antiporda sa nangyaring pagkamatay ng mga isa.
“What I can say is as of now, these claims are doubtful, quick assumptions that the fish kill was brought by the nourishment is erroneous. Because if that happened due to the nourishment area, would you imagine, the dead fishes should have washed up at the pier, near the Manila Baywalk area, and not in Baseco… That’s our view, immediately saying that dolomite caused the issue is very erroneous. Now, for the satisfaction of everybody, we will fly drones over the area tomorrow to see their claims… As of now, what I’m saying is that’s unlikely and the allegation that the fishkill came from the nourishment area is erroneous… We’re looking at the cyanide level, but hopefully this was not intentional,” ani Usec. Antiporda.
