Sa isinagawang senate hearing ukol sa red-tagging inalamahan ni Senadora Risa Hontiveros ang litrato at video na ipinakita ng gobyerno tungkol sa mga aktibista na naging New People’s Army (NPA) na kalaunan ay nasawi sa engkuwentro laban sa pamahalaan.
“Speaking as a mother and as a long time peace advocate as well, tama po ba talaga na magpakita tayo ng ganiyang mga videos tungkol sa mga bata at mga anak ng mga kapwa magulang natin, na who are now dead and cannot speak for themselves?” boladas ni Hontiveros.
Ang patutsada na ito ni Hontiveros ay agad sinagot ni Senador Ping Lacson at sinabing ipinapakita ng Armed Forces of the Philippines ang kanilang panig sa isyu ng red-tagging.
Sa isang social media post, may pasaring si Presidential COmmunistion Operations Office Usec. Lorraine Badoy laban sa senadora. Sinita ni Badoy ang pagpuna ni Hontiveros sa video pero hindi man lang daw nagsalita laban sa Gabriela.

And I didn’t hear you speak a word against LFS, ANAKBAYAN, CEGP, GABRIELA, ACT, IBON, KABATAAN, KARAPATAN, etc.
Who I heard you defend though were the high ranking party member of the CPP NPA NDF Central Committee installed in the House of Representatives: the Makabayan Bloc, Madame Senator- those DIRECTLY responsible for the deaths of these children…
