WATCH: Wow! Philippines wins big in Malaysia Diving, Resort and Travel Show 2023

Out of five countries, the Philippines emerged as the winner, beating Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, and Maldives at the largest diving expo in Asia. This award recognizes the Philippines' stunning marine ecology and encourages more people to become passionate divers.

This is not the first time that the Philippines has been recognized for its incredible diving spots. In fact, the country was also awarded as the World's Leading Dive Destination in 2022 and has held the title of Asia's Leading Dive Destination for four years in a row from 2019 to 2022.
Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco expressed her gratitude and said that this win is a testament to the beauty and blessings that the Philippines has been endowed with. She also highlighted the collaborative efforts of the diving communities and stakeholders in ensuring not only the marketability but also the sustainability of the country's destinations. As the Department of Tourism continues its efforts to develop and promote the Philippines as an ideal destination for all travelers, we can look forward to an enhanced tourist experience, a strengthened and transformed tourism industry, and an important role of tourism in the country's economic development post-pandemic.
During the expo, the Philippines was represented by its co-exhibitors, which included Lalaguna Villas Luxury Dive Resort & Spa (Puerto Galera), Fisheye Divers (Boracay), Dolphinlee Aquatic (Malaysia-based dive agent), Moby Tek Dive (Malaysia-based dive agent), Kokay's Maldito Dive Resort (Malapascua), Scandi Divers (Puerto Galera), and the country's flag-carrier Philippine Airlines.
