Naniniwala si French Sicentist at 2008 Nobel Prize recipient Luc Montagnier, na ang coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) ay gawa sa laboratoryo o sinadya ang pagkakagawa.
Si Montagnier ay ang scientist na nakadiskubre ng sakit na HIV.
Hindi naman masagot ni Montagnier kung ano ang layunin ng mga molecular biologists, pero ang trabaho lang daw niya ay ungkatin ang katotohanan. Ang palagay niya ay ginawa ang naturang virus para sa gumawa ng AIDS vaccine.
“There’s a part which is obviously the classic virus, and there’s another mainly coming from the bat, but that part has added sequences, particularly from HIV–the AIDS virus,” sabi ni Montagnier.
Magugunita na sinabi din ni United States President Donald Trump na may nakita siyang ebidensiya na gawa sa Wuhan Institute of Virology ang covid-19.
“We’re going to see where it comes from,… We have people looking at it very, very strongly. Scientific people, intelligence people, and others. We’re going to put it all together. I think we will have a very good answer eventually. And China might even tell us,” ani US President Trump.
Ayon naman sa mga US intelligence agences, hindi daw gawa ng tao ang covid-19.
“(the intelligence community) concurs with the wide scientific consensus that the Covid-19 virus was not manmade or genetically modified… The intelligence community will continue to rigorously examine emerging information and intelligence to determine whether the outbreak began through contact with infected animals or if it was the result of an accident at a laboratory in Wuhan,” sabi sa pahayag ng Office of the Director of National Intelligence.
