Umalma ang ilang obispo ng Simbahan matapos naglabas ng patakaran ang Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) sa pagpapasok ng mga tao sa mga simbahan sa pahanon ng modified enhanced community quarantine at modified general community quarantine.
Ayon kay Bishop Broderick Pabillo, bigla-bigla daw ang pagdedesisyon ng pamahalaan at hindi sila kinokonsulta.
“This directive on religious activities was surely taken without any consultation with the religious sector. This is a prblem with the government. They make arbitray decisios without proper consultation with the sector involved. So”
Base kasi sa direktiba ng IATF, papayaganlang pumasok sa loob ng simabahan ang 5 hanggang 10 katao.
Para naman kay Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) executive secretary for Public Affairs Committee Father Jerome Secillano, hindi daw kinonsidera ng gobyerno na may mga simbahan na kayang magpapasok ng mas maraming tao na hindi nasasakripisyo ang social distancing.
“Limiting the number of churchgoers to 10 is I think an ‘abuse of prudence,’… There are so many big churches in the country that even with a hundred attendees, the 1 or 2 meters required for social or physical distancing will not be violated… The Inter-Agency Task Force should have at least considered that reality… It would be better for the IATF to look at it and decide the viability of the proposed strategies,” saad naman ni Secillano.
Katulad ng ilang sektor sa ating lipunan, isa ang simbahan ang naapetohan ng covid-19 crisis dahil sa quarantine na ipnatutupad ng pamahalaan. Ayon kay Laiko president Rouquela Ponte , naging matumal ang koleksyon ng Simbahang Katoliko nang ipatupad ang ECQ.
“As a result, collections and various offerings to our churches have also stopped. As members of the Church, we know that all the services and duties (of) our parishes and diocese require our continued contributions… Therefore, we must not forget and neglect this important and fundamental duty… Let us remind them to make regular offerings and contributions. Assign lay people to instruct and remind parishioners on how to send money through banks, money delivery, Cebuana, GCash, among others,” sabi ni Ponte.
