Malugod na ibinahagi ni Atty. Larry Gadon ang balita patungkol sa posibleng maging hakbang ng opisina ni Solicitor General Jose Calida laban kay Supreme Court (SC) Associate Justice Marvic Leonen. Ito ay kaugnay sa diumano’y hindi pagsu-sumite ni Leonen ng Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net worth o (SALN) sa loob ng 15 taon. Ayon sa kampo ni Calida, magsasampa sila ng Quo Warranto Peition kung may sapat na ebidensiya laban kay Leonen.
“The OSG (Office of the Solicitor General) takes serious note of the allegations in your letter and undertakes to study and uncover the truth behind such allegations… Should it be found that the allegations against AJ Leonen are true, the OSG will not hesitate to discharge its mandate to uphold the Constitution and question before the Supreme Court the qualifications of AJ Leonen via Quo Warranto,” bahagi ng liham ni Calida kay Atty. Larry Gadon.
Si Gadon ang nasabi kay Calida na hindi daw nakapag-sumite si Leonen ng mga SALN noong taong 2003, 2008 at 2009.
Si Leonen ang mahistrado na may hawak sa election protest ni former senator Bongbong Marcos laban kay Vice President Leni Robredo na naging katunggali nito sa pagka-bise noon 2016 elections.
Magugunita na naing matagumpay si Calida sa pagpapatanggal kay former chief justice Maria Lourdes Sereno sa pamamagitan din ng Quo Warranto petition.
