Hindi na nakaporma ang isa sa mga matataas na lider ng New People’s Army (NPA) nang maka-engkwentro nito ang mga tropa ng pamahalaan sa Tandag City, Surigao Del Sur.
Hahainan lang sana si National Democratic Front – Mindanao spokesperson Alvin Luque ng warrant nang manlaban ito sa mga alagad ng batas.
“He is facing criminal charges of two counts of murder, kidnapping, and serious illegal detention… “His companion also drew a hand grenade that prompted the operating troops to return fire,” sabi ni Col. James T. Goforth, Surigao del Sur Police Provincial Office director.
Ayon kay Brig. Gen. Romeo M. Caramat Jr., director of the Police Regional Office 13 (Caraga), ang pagkamatay ni Luque ay isang malaking hakbang ng gobyerno para makamit ang kapayapaan. Naging bahagi daw si Luque sa pag-atake sa police patrol base sa Sibagat, Agusan del Sur noong Disyembre ng 2018. Responsable din daw ito sa pagdukot sa ilang Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) members.
“He was also present during the release of two personnel of (the) 3rd Special Forces Battalion and six CAFGUs in Sitio Engineering, Barangay San Juan, Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur last February 19, 2019,” paliwanag pa ni Caramat.
