Naging malaking isyu ngayon ang pagbuwag sa kasunduan sa pagitang ng Department of National Defense (DND) at University of the Philippines (UP). Sa nasabing kaunduan, pinipigilan ang gma militar na makapasok ang kasundaluhan at kapulisan sa UP campus ng walang pahintulot sa pamunuan ng unibersidad.
Matapos ibasura ng DND ang kasunduan sa UP, nanawagan naman ang kongresista ng Duterte Youth Partylist na si Representative Ducielle Cardema para buwagin din ang parehas ang na kasunduan ng militar sa Polythecnic University of the Philippines (PUP).
Ang panwagan na ito ay agad inalmahan ng mga student officials ng naturang paaralan.
“Academic freedom is the lifeline of every iskolars ng Bayan – in order to shed a brighter ight to the nation.
It allows our student to go beyond the endeavors of life and surpass the conventions.
For so long, the University has provided a safe zone for highly nurtured learners anchored in the social realities of the world through the exercise of critical thinking in the academe,” sabi nina PUP Student Regent Ellenor Bartolome at ni CSC President Joner Dacula.
Ang boladas naman ng mga student officials ay agad sinupalpal ng kongresista. Ipinaalala din ni Cardema ang ginawa noon na panununog ng mga estudyante sa mga lamesa at upuan ng PUP.
“Academic freedom does not include freedom to commit sedition by calling on the people to rebel against the government.
Ibabalik ko ang tanong sa inyo, paano ninyo pinoprotektahan ang school ‘pag nagsusunog na ng mga school equipment ang iilang leftist diyan habang ‘di naman makapasok agad ang gobyerno dahil sa accord na iyan?” resbak ni Rep. Cardema.
