Nai-turnover na ni Senador Manny Pacquiao ang coronavirus (covid-19) test kits na nagkakahalaga ng P400 million kay San Lazaro Hopsital infectious disease head scientist Dr. Rongene Solante at sa Philippine General Hospital. Ang mga naturang medical supplies ay donasyon ni Chinese Billionaire at Alibaba Group Founder na si Jack Ma na kaibigan ni Sen. Pacquiao.
Hindi ang ito ang unang pagkakataon na tumulong ang Chinese Billionaire sa Pilipinas. Magugunita na nangako rin si Ma na magbibigay ng kalahating milyong face masks sa Pilipinas upang matulungan ang ating gobyerno na mapigilan ang pagdami ng kaso ng covid-19 infections.
“I want to personally send my best regards and hope we can do something for the Philippines to fight this virus,” sabi ni Ma kay Department of Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III.
Nagpasalamat naman si Finance Secretary Dominguez sa kabutihang loob ng Chinese billionaire. Ipagbibigay alam niya daw ito kay Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
“Mr. Ma has committed to begin delivery of the 500,000 masks either later this week or early next week through the Jack Ma Foundation and the Alibaba Foundation… Thank you very much, Jack. This is very, very much needed here, and I will tell our President right away of your generosity and your desire to help,” pahayg ni Secretary Dominguez.
Maliban sa face maks, binigyan din ni Ma ng downloadable electronic handbook ang kalihim. Posible daw itong makatulong sa mga medical practitioners ng Pilipinas kung paano magiging ligtas habang naka-frontlines laban sa coronavirus.
“96% of the patients recovered, and none of the doctors or nurses got infected. So, I’m putting it online and I hope you can share it with the doctors and nurses and the hospitals in need,” paliwanag ni Ma sa kalihim.
Magugunita na nagpunta na si Ma sa Pilipinas noong 2017 para magsalita at isulong ang mobile payment system.
