The proposed bill asks for absolute control over any appropriation in the FY 2020 GAA. Matatandaan na kahapon ay lumabas sa ilang news outlet ang balita na humihiling ang Palasyo ng emergency powers upang mabilis na maaksyunan ng pamahalaan ang mabilis na pagkalat ng covid-19.
Kontra din si opposition senator Risa Hontiveros na bigyan ng karagdagang kapangyarihan si Pangulong Duterte para matugunan covid-19 outbreak.
“The proposed grant of additional powers to the executive branch is clearly unnecessary to address the most pressing needs of health workers, COVID-19 patients, and poor Filipinos alike in this critical period… Our existing laws already grant government the powers and other necessary tools needed to mount an effective response against COVID-19,” sabi ng senadora.
